Fencing Phase Begins – Sisonke Early Learning Centre

by in Back To School, Community Upliftment February 22, 2023

Eucaforest continues to support community development in the surrounding villages, including Phumula on the main farm at Panbult and Msinyane across the dirt road. Since 2016, our Social Impact division has supported a community-based daycare in Phumula, providing monthly financial support for staff, stationery, and the annual graduation ceremony.

Originally run from a small “Rondawel” (clay hut) by two dedicated caregivers, the daycare has grown to accommodate 25–30 learners, with about 12% growth each year. IsiZulu is the mother tongue of the learners. As the facility expanded, the need for a safe, sustainable structure became clear—especially to serve children of working parents and orphans from the two villages. In response, Eucaforest initiated the development of the Sisonke Early Learning Centre on the main farm. Phase 1 of the project commenced in February 2023 with the installation of perimeter fencing, marking the first step toward a secure and supportive learning environment for the community’s children.
